I’m very blessed to have a mother who supports my blogging dreams. I first introduced the idea of starting a blog the end of summer 2017. Little did I know, she had purchased me a Blue microphone that following August, several months before my first post or YouTube video. I was given the microphone Christmas Day. She had already had it in her heart to do what should could to make blogging easier for me.
Due to my current finances, I wasn’t able to give her a Christmas gift that she deserved. But I was able to completely organize and clean her home office. Now, she has a space that is geared toward a productive work environment. Additionally, with a little leftover money I’d put to the side, I was able to treat my mom to dessert at Kia’s Cakes (Lansdowne, PA) the night before my plane was leaving for New Orleans.
Unfortunately, I was not able to capture a good picture of of my mom while we were there because she had been networking with the owner about a potential business partnership for Marjani Beauty. Afterward, she continued to work on her own career while making calls. She is the true definition of a working woman.
All that aside, we truly enjoyed ourselves at Kia’s Cakes. As you can see they house an assortment of delicious desserts. I went with the vegan harvest muffin. It was totally worth the calories. Although, I’m not sure what the future holds, I know that it is a goal of mine to visit this cafe again.
Since I don’t live close by, I decided to check out their website. Not only does Kia’s Cakes have the desserts presented on the table, coffee and ambiance, but there are over 40 flavors of cupcakes, cake pops, cheesecakes, muffins and cookies that can be ordered. And I know that sweets are not that good for your health, but in moderation, they can be good for the soul.
And you know that filmy layer of waxy material you get from eating desserts? Yes, no, maybe so. Well I do. When that happens, it makes me regret ever eating the sweets. Well at Kia’s Cakes, all her desserts are made of natural ingredients. So all I could taste was the moistness of the muffin and the warming cup of coffee.
So if you’re ever in the area, go check them out. But don’t go alone. Have a loved one or a best friend tag along. Grab so coffee, something sweet to eat and chat it up! But if you’re looking to kill some time. Play a board game or two.
